AirDrop lets you quickly send files, websites, photos, locations, and more to other nearby Apple devices. AirDrop is easy, fast, and the information is encrypted for privacy. By default, AirDrop is turned off or set to receive only from people in your Contacts.
AirDrop uses Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, so both must be turned on. The recipient must also have AirDrop turned on in Settings > General > AirDrop. If you are not in their contact list they must turn on Everyone for 10 Minutes (earlier versions of AirDrop have the option for Everyone).
New in iOS 17: AirDrop transfers will continue over the internet if you leave Wi-Fi and Bluetooth range.
Are you both on iOS 17? Just move your iPhones close together to initiate the transfer process.
If the person you want to share the item with does not appear as a recipient, they need to turn on AirDrop on their device.
Need to accept an AirDrop from someone not in your contacts? Open Ajustes > General > AirDrop y enciende Everyone for 10 Minutes.
AirDrop shortcut in Control Center
Here’s a shortcut to AirDrop. Open Control Center. Then touch and pause on the top-left group of controls-the one that has Airplane Mode. It will open to a larger group of controls that includes AirDrop!
