What’s New in iOS 17

iOS 17 has a slew of new useful features, and some that are just plain fun. Here are some highlights worth upgrading for.

• Widgets are more interactive and can be used directly from a Home screen.
• You can create a Contact Poster, a customized screen, that people will see when you call them. Let your creativity rule!
• StandBy just made your iPhone into a great desktop accessory and nighttime clock.
• You can now watch voicemail transcribe your phone messages in real time. You can pick up the call anytime.
• Stickers and Memojis help you express yourself. Now you can create your own and use them almost anywhere.
• Messages now interact with location services and audio messages are transcribed for reading.
• Speaking of Messages, search is greatly improved and you can now swipe-to-reply.
• Autocorrect and predictive text are improved and easier to use.
• One-time verification codes are automatically deleted (that’ll save some time and confusion).
• A new journaling app (coming later in 2023) will make it easier to reflect and diary your day (complete with iOS 17 prompts!).
