Voicemail

iOS 17 introduces real-time voicemail. You can send an incoming call to voicemail and watch as the message is transcribed live. You can decide to pick up the call at any time during the voicemail recording.

New voicemails are indicated with a badge (the little red circle with the number of new voicemail messages) on the Home screen phone button "". Open the Phone app and tap Voicemail "" to see a list of voicemails. Tap any to open and play.

Touching the Info "" button next to a voicemail opens a menu with options for returning the call, sending a message, creating a new contact, or blocking the number.

Using Siri to check and play voicemail

Ask Siri if you have voicemail, and tell her to play the voicemail for you.

Be sure to delete old voicemails regularly to free up memory on your phone. If your voicemail box is full, callers will not be able to leave you a message.
