Search with Spotlight

Search can find almost anything on your device or the web. Search is smart too. It’ll suggest apps you use often by location or time of day. Over time, you will add lots of files—apps, email, and music, to name a few—to your device as you use it. Sometimes it is difficult to find these things. Just type in a portion of a title or keyword, and Search will look for matches in:

• Apps
• Mail
• Contacts
• Music
• Notes
• Calendars
• The web and Wikipedia
• Live Text will even show results from pictures that have matching words in the pictures!

Your device will display search results in Spotlight, a scrollable window.

To open Search, tap at the bottom of any Home Screen, or swipe down from the middle of any Home or Lock Screen. When you begin typing, Siri will try to guess what you want to know along with the app you can use to get there.
