Contacts are the people you communicate with. You can record multiple phone numbers and email addresses, as well as street addresses and much more in the Contacts app. Contacts integrate with Gmail and with your phone app on your smartphone. Your contact list can store multiple phone numbers and email addresses and can be used for making phone calls as well as sending messages.

Add your friends and business associates to your Contacts list for quick access to email addresses, phone numbers, notes, and other information.

You can add a new contact directly from an email using the sender’s information contained in with the message.

Note: When addressing emails, Gmail will try and fill your To: box with email addresses from your Contacts and Groups. Click a suggestion to fill the box and address the message.
Sometimes you need to change information about contacts you have created. For example, when someone’s email address changes, you will need to edit their record in Contacts.
If you receive a message indicating that an email you sent could not be delivered, check that you have the person’s correct email address and that you entered it correctly. Any misspelling will mean the email will not be deliverable.
You can delete contacts as needed.

If you regularly send messages to the same group of people, create a label (the old Groups feature) and add the label to the contacts you want to include in the group. You can then easily send messages to the entire group by typing the group name into the “To” box, rather than adding names individually.

Now when you want to send a message to everyone in the group, type the label name and Gmail will add all the names with the label to your recipient list automatically.
