Android Volume Control

You can control the volume for rings (calls and notifications), media (music, movies, games), and alarms separately. You can set volumes in Settings, but it’s easier and more convenient to use the side volume buttons and an onscreen control that pops up when you press a volume button.

Ring (notifications) volume

Press a volume button to display the onscreen volume controls.

There are several ways to silence your device:

• Press a volume button to open the onscreen slider, then tap the bell icon , then tap Vibrate-only  or Silence all . Tap  to return to your previous volume setting.
• Press your down-volume button until you enter vibrate-only mode. Press the down-volume button again to enter Silent all. Silent all only affects ringing and notifications. Alarms and media will still play aloud.

Tap the Options icon  to show all volume controls.
