Family Sharing

You can share your Apple Music plan and App Store purchases like movies and books with up to five family members using Family Sharing. One person must be the organizer, and all purchases must be made using the credit card associated with the organizer’s account. Everyone in the group must have their own Apple account; the organizer can create accounts for children under 13.

  1. To begin, go to Settings "", tap Apple ID (your name), then Family Sharing.
  2. Tap Set Up Your Family and follow the prompts.

Purchase approval

The organizer can require that young family members request approval for purchases (children are automatically in this group):

  • Go to Settings "" > Apple ID (your name) > Family Sharing, tap the family member’s name, and turn on Ask to Buy.

In the United States, you can enable Ask to Buy for any family member under 18. Ask to Buy is automatically enabled for children under the age of 13.

When Ask to Buy is set up, the organizer will get a request on his/her iOS device asking for approval for any purchases made on the account.
