The Calendar app can do much more than display events. You can share calendars and invite friends to events. Your Calendar can display travel time based on your location. You can import and sync calendars from other sources, like your Gmail or Yahoo accounts.

Creating a new iCloud calendar
Open Calendar , then touch Calendars at the bottom of the screen. Your list of current Calendars will appear.
Tap Add Calendar.
Give the calendar a name and choose a color.
Touch Done to save and exit.
Adding a calendar from an outside source
Go to Settings > Calendar > Accounts.
Tap Add Account, choose from a provider, and follow the instructions to add another email/calendar account. You’ll need the email and password for the account.
Editing calendars
Open Calendar , then touch Calendars at the bottom of the screen. Your list of current Calendars will appear.
Tap a listed calendar to select/deselect it for display. Tap the to rename or change the color of the calendar.
Adding an event
Tap and enter the details, including name and time.
Tap Alert to set an alert and the number of hours or minutes before the event you want the alert to display or sound. You can set default alert times in Settings > Calendar > Default Alert Times.
You can enter a location by address or a name such as a city, landmark, or business name. Choose by touching on the correct suggestion.
Tap Calendar to assign the event to a specific calendar.
Set a Time to Leave alert
If you have an address listed for your event, Calendar will monitor your location, the event location, and the traffic conditions to calculate travel time and alert you when it is time to leave. Choose Time to Leave in the Alert box.
Viewing event details
Touch on an event in any view (Day, Week, etc.) to display a pop-up with event details.
